Well, the media is telling us that Obama is a shoe in and maybe it will be that way.... I am not sure I believe the polls, but regardless of what happens I believe that God is in control and He sets rulers over us. He may choose to set Obama over us to take our focus off of ourselves and back on Him. It certainly has worked in Cuba. Those who were for Castro in 1958 recognize their folly in hind sight, but their dependence in God is far deeper than it would have been if he had not come to power. It is sad it takes such drastic action to bring people into a closer relationship with God, but I suppose if it works it is well worth it. We must believe the Lord has our best interest at heart.... even though discipline is painful. We know the Lord does discipline those He loves.
Also, if we put on our forever eyes.....eternity is VERY long and this life is VERY short. We must try to get that perspective. Those who are in charge are only there because God puts them there. So I will pray for mercy and accept His choice.

It is very harsh, unfair and ignorant of you to compare Obama to Castro. He was a terrible man and a communist. You are right though, we do need to pray for our president and our country...but you might want to do some praying for yourself too.
Castro and Obama are not the same, but I feel they have many philosophical similarities. For example....both believe they must redistribute the wealth ...."spead the wealth". That is why so many Cuban's welcomed him with open arms. He was loved and cherished...until they discovered his promisies were empty. Yes, in hind sight we are able to see how terrible he was for Cuba...I agree with you about that.
I am praying big time Obama will see his plans to redistribute wealth are just as terrible. Those who work hard and save....many times doing without so they can put something away for retirement should not be punished for their prudence by taxing their money...or taxing the money they plan to leave behind for their children...and from what I can gather that is his plan and he thinks ...like Castro does, that is just fine.

Deb do not feel bad because some one doesn't know their history. If we are ignorant and vote those people in that have the socialist leanings then history will repeat its self. Ignorant is not the word for those it is blind allegiance to some one with the same leanings as castro. I remember when Castro was on the rise in Cuba and there too they thought he was their mesiah.
