1.9 Million Louisiana Residents in the Dark

Hurricane Gustav

We have been watching Hurricane Gustav closely and he was no Katrina. Was there any doubt that a hurricane named Gustav could match the furry of a hurricane named Katrina. What did Shakespeare say, "Hell hath no furry as a woman......" anyway, we in Louisiana and Mississippi are very thankful this hasn't been the disaster Katrina was. (My heart goes out to all the girls named Katrina..... who wants their name to bring up memories of that horror!)
BUT....we are not out of the woods yet. Grande Isle has several feet of water and there is a damn that broke in Plaquemine Parish and we are worried about friends down at Tabassco in New Iberia. They are just getting back on their feet after rebuilding from hurricane Rita!! There will be several days of rain and there are tornado watches all over because of the winds from Gustav...and yes, there are 1.9 million Louisiana residents without power.
Hopefully, there will not be too much flooding and wind damage. (Jim just hollered to look out the window as a big gust of wind was whipping the trees around.) There is bound to be some damage if it rains as much as they are predicting and some tornadoes touch down....so please don't stop praying for all those in Gustav's path (Mississippi, Louisiana, and E. Texas) quite yet!!!
